Thank you for praying for my brother Rodney. He ended up being admitted to the hospital after they found a blood clot in his leg and was put on blood thinners. He was in a lot of pain and was unable to walk. They released about a week and a half ago to a nursing rehabilitation center to undergo physical therapy so he could get mobile again. His goal was to be home for the Superbowl and it looks like he’ll be released to go home today. He’ll still have some work to do and need nursing care for a bit but is doing much better. He’s grateful for those who’ve prayed and so am I. Thank you!
To my Turning point family, I send you greetings from our sister church in Broward County Florida. I come to you with a heavy heart. Please, please pray for Miriam Lasso our sister who just yesterday after landing in Miami got a call that her parents were in a terrible car accident and in ICU. Her mother also a disciple in our sister church in Ecuador died last night, Miriam left Miami again at 3:00am this morning hoping to make it and see her dad who is still in ICU. I ask you to please pray that her father gets to make it and that he gets the promise of eternal life. Also for her family that they do not grow bitter through this loss. Miriam was coming here on her way back to Los Angeles. Please, please pray for her. Thank you
Please pray for my brother, Rodney Jackson in Seattle. He has MS and yesterday woke up with a heavy nose bleed as well as an excruciating headache and couldn’t figure out the simple task of putting his socks on. He went to the emergency room and they said he had a sinus infection and treated it with antibiotics. Last night, apparently he fell and couldn’t get up. After some difficulty (he’s a big guy…think Shaq), his girlfriend Shannon was able to get him up. He plans to contact his doctor today. I mentioned to him that I would post a prayer request for him on our Prayer Wall and he was very grateful at the thought of you praying for him. Please pray for his health to get better and that there is nothing detrimental with his health going on and for his MS to be under control and if possible be healed. Also, pray for his family as he and Shannon have a 12 year old son with Down Syndrome who I’m sure he’s concerned about and wants to keep being able to care for and be a role model for. Thank you in advance.
I want to thank everyone who prayed for my niece-in-law. Her new daughter arrived yesterday and is well and happy.
Hey awesome people,
Thanks to God, I have a friend that is coming with me to a bible talk club at my school this Thursday. This guy has been through terrible things in his life. I just really need prayers for God to
Give him hope on this day, and for me to let go of my desire to control, along with my sadness and worry for this guy; and to replace it with hope and confidence in Gods power.
And overall to just trust that God is gonna do way more for him than I ever could.
I just wanted to give an update on my prayer request for Craig. I received word today that he is going to be ok. His daughter said they almost lost him a few times, but he will be alright! Thanks be to God and all of you for keeping my friend, Sunni and her family in your prayers. I am so grateful for our church community and Sunni is very grateful for all your prayers for her family as well. I pray this situation will ultimately bring them closer to God.
Please pray for my friend Sunni’s dad, Craig. She is a dear friend of mine from high school. We played basketball together and our families were very close. This past week her dad had a heart attack and had to be air lifted to a hospital in Sacramento. He is currently still in the ICU and on breathing tubes and incubated. Hopefully they will take him off the breathing equipment tomorrow. She and her family would really appreciate all the prayers they can get for her dad. Thanks so much!
As some of you know Greg’s father Gregorio has stage 4 colon cancer. He was diagnosed almost a year ago (this December). In the past year it has spread significantly throughout his body(liver, both lungs) and now to his bones.
Last night he was re admitted to the hospital with severe dehydration and kidney failure. The chemotherapy has caused sores to the inside of his mouth and throat making it unbearable for him to eat and drink. Right now we are considering taking him off the chemo and seeing how to manage his pain for however much longer God will allow him to live. He has signed a DNR as well. This is not an easy time in our family, seeing him this sick is heartbreaking.
Please pray for Greg’s dad Gregorio Andal. For healing, comfort and solutions. Pray for the doctors/nurses who are attending to him to be kind and patient and use wisdom! Please pray for my mother in law Annie who is very worried about her husband. Please pray for Greg, to be strong and hopeful yet surrendered to whatever God chooses. Please pray for me to be the best support I can for my family. And please pray for Greg’s brother, sister and nieces during this time. Thank you!

Prayers Please for our brother Michael Lizarraga and his family .
Michael suddenly lost his mom last Sunday 8/7/16
I am writing to humbly ask you all for prayers. I’m currently signed up to go with the community service brigade to El Salvador in October. Last week, my mom called and told me that on her most recent MRI, they found another brain tumor. She’s been living with one for the past 11 years that sits on her pituitary gland and mostly causes problems by messing with her internal thermostat (she\’s hot ALL of the time), but they’ve been monitoring it because it\’s pressing on her optic nerve, which is how this one was spotted. This new one, like the first, is NOT cancer and not genetic. It is unrelated to the first as far as anyone can tell, and it’s a different kind of tumor. This new one is sitting on her auditory nerve on the right side and has caused her to lose most of her hearing on the right side, something she has just been crediting to aging.
I am going home (Florida) on August 10th to go with her to her appointment to see the specialist on the 12th. He will most likely (90%) recommend surgery, at which point we will schedule it. The timing of her surgery and her expected recovery period will determine when I will actually return to LA, or if I return for a short time and then go back to Florida for her surgery.
In addition to my mom’s issues, my dad has had chronic health problems for the past 15 years (he\’s now mostly wheelchair bound and has doctors’ appointments at least 2-3 days a week). So there will need to be someone with them for the entirety of her recovery until she is fully capable of driving them both around again.
I work 2 different jobs as an independent contractor, meaning I don’t get vacation or sick days, or benefits of any kind. Luckily, my bosses at both jobs are incredibly kind, understanding women who wish me the best and will expect me back when things are resolved and I\’m back in town.
I am not the only one available to take care of my parents, my mother’s father is available for part of the time, and ideally, if it comes to that he and his wife will be able to take over while I go to El Salvador if that timing becomes necessary.
So what I need are prayers for my mom\’s health particularly, but also for my dad’s health and wellbeing, for my own sanity and trust in God, for the timing and financial aspects of everything, for my grandparents and the trip to El Salvador.
